4:00 p.m. R7 4 Cool Aza Rene (3 f Cool Aza Beel – Irene) – Triston Moodley (a); she received an economical trip from barrier one and finished off strongly for a close third in the Listed NZB Airfreight Stakes over 1400m on 26 December at Wingatui, also with Moodley aboard. One of two for the stable contesting the $80,000 Listed Liquorland Gore Guineas (1335m), she has won five of 10 starts to 1400 metres, including the Group 3 Barneswood Farm Stakes (1400m), is a highly competitive filly, and looks a genuine top three contender if she can overcome the outside gate (13). Fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.35.

4:00 p.m. R7 7 Marokopa Falls (3 f Hellbent – Beside You) – Bruno Queiroz; she raced wide with cover back in the field and travelled widest into the straight when finishing seventh in the Listed NZB Airfreight Stakes on 26 December at Wingatui, which Cool Aza Rene (above) also competed in. She has drawn perfectly (2) for the Liquorland Gore Guineas, and has the ability to prove competitive in this field. Fixed odds: $8.50 & $2.80.
