Te Akau New Zealand has nine horses racing on Wednesday 9 December at Hastings.





Weather: cloudy, track: Dead6, rail: out 6 metres. 2mls rain forecast Wednesday.










2.45 p.m. R3 8 Wishing Well (3 f Charm Spirit -
Starwish) - Craig Grylls; eased late on debut in the Maiden 1230 metres on 17
November at Rotorua, and contests the $10,000 NZB Insurance Pearl Series Maiden
3YO Fillies 1200 metres. Taking educational benefit from her first-up run, she
is capable of improvement with luck from barrier 11.





2.45 p.m. R3 13 La Flora Belle (3 f Iffraaj - Tsarina
Belle) - Michael McNab; made good ground for fourth when trialling on 16
November at Taupo, and debuts in the $10,000 NZB Insurance Pearl Series Maiden
3YO Fillies 1200 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus). A three-quarter sister to
stable-mate and dual Horse of the Year Melody Belle (Commands), winner of 12
Group 1 races, she is destined for more distance but ideally drawn (4) to be
finding the line strongly.





3.20 p.m. R4 1 Laureate (4 g Snitzel - Floria) - Johnathan Parkes; has been
caught wide in his first two starts this time in, most recently in the Maiden
1400 metres on 25 November at Te Rapa. He is capable of better with an
economical trip from barrier six in the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres.





3.20 p.m. R4 5 Kathies Choice (4 m Redoute's Choice -
Everswindell) - Danielle Johnson; rounded off okay for fifth after racing in
tight-quarters on 25 November in the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres at Te Rapa, and
with blinkers on she rates a top four chance in the corresponding event.





3.55 p.m. R5 12 Spirit of Gold (4 m Medaglia d'Oro -
Full of Spirit) - Danielle Johnson; found the line from well back for sixth on the debut in the Maiden
1400 metres on 4
November at Avondale, and steps up in the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres.
From impressive race mare Full of Spirit (Flying Spur), a winner in both NZ and
Australia, highlighting her career winning the Adrian Knox Stakes (Gr. 3,
2000m) at Randwick, she rates a top four chance with a decent trip from barrier
eight.





3.55 p.m. R5 13 Pride of Pania (3 g Pierro - Rose of
Pania) - Kozzi Asano (a1); has trialled three times and debuts in the $10,000
Maiden 1600 metres. He has a terrific pedigree, from the family of 1000 Guineas
(Gr. 1, 1600m) and Sir Tristram Fillies Classic (Gr. 2, 2000) winner Taatletail
(Faltaat), and ideally drawn in barrier two.





4.30 p.m. R6 4 Luminous (5 m Reliable Man - Keenly) -
Danielle Johnson; worked home from well back in a strong field for the Rating
74 1400 metres on 21 November at Pukekohe, and steps up in the $11,000 Rating
74 1600 metres. Although the form line is unflattering, she was a stakes placed
three-year-old over 2000 metres and rates a top four chance if appreciative of
the course at her first attempt.





6.14 p.m. R9 6 No Limits (3 g Savabeel - Make A Wish)
- Johnathan Parkes; rounded off nicely for second when trialling on 12 November
at Ellerslie, and found the line for fifth in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres on 25 November at Te Rapa.
Destined for more distance, he has drawn favourably (2) in the $10,000 Maiden
1400 metres and rates a top four chance.





6.49 p.m. R10 4 Super Sid (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Half
Bak) - Danielle Johnson; unleashed a big finish to win the Maiden 1400 metres
on 23 September at Matamata, and trialled recently after being freshened. Resuming
in the $10,000 Rating 65 1300 metres, he rates a top three chance from barrier
four.
