Te Akau Hastings' Preview
2 March, 2017
Te Akau New Zealand has one horse racing on Thursday 2 March at Hastings, a twilight meeting.
As on raceday morning the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.
6.39 p.m. R7 5 Fashionably (3 f Redoute's Choice - Scarlett Lady) - Opie Bosson; won stylishly on 22 January in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres at Te Rapa, with Bosson aboard, and was unlucky not to win again in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 9 February at Te Aroha. Picking up strongly out of midfield, she had to change ground and was checked twice late in the piece only to be denied by a long head. Drawn barrier four in the $70,000 Little Avondale Lowland Stakes (Gr. 3, 2100m), she has the pedigree, from Queensland Oaks (Gr. 1, 2400m) winner Scarlett Lady (Savabeel), and racing style to appreciate stepping up in distance. Matched with a steely resolve for the game, she can certainly make her presence felt at this level.
