Te Akau Hastings Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Sunday 12 November at Hastings.

As on Saturday 11 November the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail out 6 metres. 1ml rain forecast Saturday.

3.10 p.m. R4 8 Elegant D'Oro (4 m Medaglia d'Oro - Elegant Fashion) - Michael McNab; trialled without being pressured on 25 October at Te Aroha, and resumes from barrier three in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. Her two previous starts included a competitive third on debut at Ruakaka, and with blinkers and a tongue tie on she appears an each way chance. A very well bred filly, her dam is the 2003 Hong Kong Derby winner Elegant Fashion (Danewin).

4.20 p.m. R6 8 Don'tblamethemusic (4 g Coats Choice - Blame the Music) - Michael McNab; began well to travel three back in the inner but received no room in the straight when resuming in the Rating 75 1215 metres on 21 October at Rotorua. He displayed natural talent at the trials before winning both his race day outings (1200m) last season and should prove a good chance despite drawing the outside barrier of nine runners in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres.

4.55 p.m. R7 3 Full of Grace (3 g O'Reilly - Tuesday's Child) - Michael McNab; makes his debut in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1300 metres. He poked between runners on straightening and ran out a solid trial for fourth over 1150 metres on 19 October at Waipa, his third trial this time in. He shapes as a type to keep improving in a campaign, especially over a bit more ground, but should be ready for a bold performance first up.
5.30 p.m. R8 11 Unfazed (4 m Zabeel - Fazed) - Michael McNab; came from off the pace and kept galloping solidly for a close fourth when trialling over 1150 metres on 19 October at Waipa, and resumes in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. She raced away to win her Maiden by nearly four lengths over 1400 metres in January this year at Rotorua, and capable of a solid performance with luck from barrier 11.
