Te Akau Hastings Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the nine-race programme on Thursday July 17 at Hastings.

As on Wednesday July 18 the conditions were: cloudy and Slow7, rail out 10 metres.

1:08pm R4 10 My Fiancée (4 m Snitzel - Meet My Sis) - Matt Cameron; produced a solid effort for fourth fresh up off 140-days in the Maiden 1200 metres on Slow9 footing at Hawera. That was on the back of a smart trial win on slow ground at Te Teko. Although drawn an outside barrier here over 1400 metres, the plan is to go forward and given her consistency she rates a good chance in this field, second up, on footing that should prove ideal.

4:03pm R9 15 Fast Fiction (4 g Fastnet Rock - Paperback) - Matt Cameron; requires a further two horses to scratch in order to make the field for the Benchmark 65 1200 metres. He certainly is well on the back of his resuming run for second on June 16 at Hawera, but such was the compressed nature of the ratings that he just missed out on the original selection. Able to gain entry, the five-length debut victor from last season is up to the task.
