Te Akau Hastings Preview
27 February, 2019
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Wednesday 27 February at Hastings.
As on Tuesday 26 February the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail true. No rain forecast.
4.04 p.m. R4 1 You're Welcome (3 g Camelot - Chorus of Angels) - Opie Bosson; won
with plenty in hand when trialling over 1000 metres at Te Aroha, and followed
with a debut win in the Maiden 1200 metres at Matamata, both in December with
Bosson aboard. Freshened since, he resumes off 60 days in the $22,500 Rating 65
1200 metres. From the first Australian bred crop of a Champion Three-Year-Old
Colt in Europe and Great Britain, Camelot (Montjeu), although bred to get over
ground he looks a strong chance.
5.56 p.m. R7 13 Shezathinka (3 f So You Think -
Headsup) - Opie Bosson; has been a touch luckless with two seconds (both at
Hastings) and two thirds from her last four starts, and gets an opportunity up
in class for the $100,000 Little Avondale Lowland Stakes (Gr. 2, 2100m). Her
dam, Headsup (Thorn Park), impressed winning with give in the ground, and she
shapes to appreciate an increase in distance. Fixed odds: $35.00 & $6.50.
