Te Akau Hastings' Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has six horses entered for the eight race programme on Sunday 8 November at Hastings.

As on Saturday 7 November the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 3 metres.

2.51 p.m. R4 6 Lady Pinot (3 f Starspangledbanner - Madame Echezeaux) - Cameron Lammas; continued her solid form on Oct. 26 when finishing third in the Maiden 3YO Fillies 1200 metres at Woodville. The form around her three starts is strong and from barrier two in the Maiden 1200 metres she appears well placed.

3.27 p.m. R5 1 Sir Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Dominant) - Cameron Lammas; has trained on well since resuming off 132 days in the Rating 75 1150 metres at Waipa, when held up with more to offer. With a tongue tie added to his gear, he possesses what it takes to threaten from barrier four in the Rating 75 1200 metres.

4.03 p.m. R6 5 Bordeaux (4 g High Chaparral - Our Echezeaux) - Michael McNab; has come on appreciably since finishing second in a recent trial with this rider aboard and resumes off 172 days with blinkers on in the Maiden 1600m. He ran on belatedly at his only course attempt, over 1400 metres, and is capable of a bold performance in this field.

4.39 p.m. R7 7 Echezeaux (4 m Encosta De Lago - Grand Echezeaux) - Michael McNab; had nothing go her way on debut at Te Aroha, and with blinkers added she changes direction on a left-handed track in the Maiden 1400 metres. While destined to get over more ground, a turnaround in performance is expected.

5.15 p.m. R8 2 Star of Greenbeel (5 g Savabeel - Greensleeves) - Cameron Lammas; was caught off the track resuming off 284 days in the Rating 65 1200 metres at Taupo, and given time since he strips in top condition for the Rating 65 1400 metres. He displayed good stretch and fight to win on debut last December over 1200 metres at Rotorua, at his only other start, and has the ability to prove competitive from the inside gate - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

5.15 p.m. R8 10 Thetruthisoutthere (3 f Starcraft - Absolute Faith) - Michael McNab; appeared inhibited on rain-affected slow going in the Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Ellerslie, after winning the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres in commanding fashion on dead ground at Ruakaka. From barrier three, on what should prove perfect ground, she can return to her best.
