Te Akau Hastings Saturday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Saturday 6 January at Hastings.

2:10 p.m. R4 6 Glitzy Glory (3 f Embellish – Colheita) – Opie Bosson; she sustained a strong finish for second in a trial on 13 November at Waipa, and resumed with a toughly fought victory, running the fastest last 600m (34.1) on the day, in the Maiden 1200 metres on 15 December at Tauranga. Up in class for the $40,000 3YO 1400 metres, she is handily drawn (5), and is a top three chance - the first of a filly duo lining up in the event for the stable. Fixed odds: $3.30 & $1.55. 

2:10 p.m. R4 8 Rue de Rivoli (3 f Tivaci – Boulevard) – Warren Kennedy; she quickened well under a hand ride for second in a trial on 22 November at Taupo, and sustained a strong run to win fresh-up, also running fastest last 600m (34.9), in the Maiden 3YO 1230 metres on 10 December at Rotorua. Up in class for the $40,000 3YO 1400 metres, she too is ideally drawn (3) and, like her stablemate, should be right in the thick of things at the business end. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $2.10.
