Te Akau Hastings Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Sunday 13 November at Hastings.

Weather: overcast, track: Heavy9, rail: out 4 metres. 7ms rain forecast Sunday.

12:38 p.m. R2 10 Family Ties (3 f Contributer - Glamazon) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); she produced a very good effort on a Heavy10 track for third to stable-mate Wild Night (Vanbrugh), who subsequently completed a hat-trick in the Sarten Memorial (Gr. 2, 1400m), when debuting in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 21 September at Matamata. Given time (53 days), in the interim she lifted strongly for second in a trial on 3 November at Matamata, and has the form around her to rate a top three chance in the $14,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.90.

1:10 p.m. R3 6 Asperitas (4 g Shooting to Win - Sehaab) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); he travelled midfield but was unable to improve in the Maiden 1600 metres on 12 October at Avondale, and drops back in the $14,000 Maiden 1400 metres. He seeks improvement. Fixed odds: $16.00 & $4.80.

1:45 p.m. R4 8 Hayate (4 m Maurice - Vamoose) - Craig Grylls; she remained back, never appearing to travel in the Rating 65 1215 metres on 16 October at Rotorua, and contests the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. She turned things around when winning a trial on 3 November at Matamata, and receives the opportunity to continue that improvement. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.30.

3:30 p.m. R7 4 La Flora Belle (5 m Iffraaj - Tsarina Belle) - Lisa Allpress; she was given a gun ride by Allpress to win the Rating 75 1600 metres on 28 October at New Plymouth, and carries an extra two-kilos (56.5kg) in the $22,000 Waipukurau Cup (Rating 75, 1600m). She brings winning form to this assignment and rates a top three chance with the right trip from barrier nine. Fixed odds: $4.20 & $1.75.
