Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Thursday 28 January at Hastings.

Weather: fine, track: Dead5, rail: true. No rain forecast.

 

2.47 p.m. R4 4 Exaltation (4 m Not A Single Doubt - Meleka Belle) - Danielle Johnson; ran home from last in equal fastest last 600m (33.7) on the day for second when resuming in the Rating 74 1200 metres on 16 December at Pukekohe, and notable finishing third in the corresponding event on 7 January at Ruakaka. She ran the fastest last 600m on the day (34.3) with an unbelievable burst to win here last February and rates a top three chance from barrier two in the $11,000 Rating 74 1400 metres.

3.22 p.m. R5 16 Jahzara  (3 f Power - Game Duchess) - Danielle Johnson; won at the trials before being denied room when finishing fourth on debut in the Pearl Series Maiden 1200 metres on 29 December at New Plymouth. Drawn out (10), but she has the credentials to rate a top three chance in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres.  She is also nominated for Race 7 at 4.37 p.m.

5.12 p.m. R8 7 Yourpoint (3 g Bull Point - Dollhouse) - Opie Bosson; was never comfortable on downgrading Slow8 footing when resuming in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 3 January at Te Aroha, and steps up in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. He towelled his rivals winning on debut, contested two stakes races, and receives a chance to flatter from barrier one.

5.12 p.m. R8 11 Shebringsmerubies (5 m Sebring - Run Away Ruby) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); ran home solidly for third when trialling on 5 January at Cambridge, and resumes in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. A consistent type that placed second, third, and fourth during her spring campaign, she has weight relief to 51.5kg.
