Te Akau Hawera Friday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 11 September at Hawera.

Weather: fine, track: Slow8, rail: out 2 metres in straight, remainder true. 5mls rain forecast Thursday, 4mls Friday.

11.31 a.m. R1 1 Bak Da Master (6 g Mastercraftsman - Bak Da Princess) - Michael Roustoby (a3); did all but hold out Interllectus (Intello), touted as a very promising jumper, when finishing second in the Maiden Hurdle (2800m) on 22 August at Awapuni, and contests the $10,000 Maiden Hurdle (2900m). The jumping ranks are highly competitive, but he continues to race well and rates a top three chance.

12.00 p.m. R2 2 Richard of Yorke (9 g Oasis Dream -
Cascata) - Michael Roustoby (a3); capped genuine efforts on the flat with a
good second when making his jumps debut in the Maiden Hurdle (3100m) on 23 August at Te Aroha, and
contests the $10,000 Maiden Hurdle (2900m). A winner twice in testing ground
last year and second in the Parliamentary Handicap (2200m), he should go well
again.
