Te Akau Kilmore Tuesday Preview
20 May, 2025
Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Tuesday 20 May at Kilmore (Victoria).
Kilmore:
Weather: fine, track: Soft5, rail: true. No rain forecast.
3:30 p.m. (NZ) ~ 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R2 8 Sparkles (3 f Grunt – Shampz) – Daniel Moor; she stalked the leaders in third and finished second in a jump out on 29 April at Pakenham (poly-track). Debuting in the A$27,000 Maiden 3YO Fillies 1200 metres, her dam has left two winners of five races to 1600 metres, and while her pedigree suggests she may require further in due course, this is a good starting point. NZ TAB fixed odds: $12.00 & $3.00.
5:00 p.m. (NZ) ~ 3:00 p.m. (Vic) R5 3 Eagle Angel (4 g Gleneagles – Angel Terrace) – Daniel Moor; he coursed widest when finishing fourth in a jump out on 5 May at Cranbourne, and makes his Australian debut in the A$27,000 Benchmark 64 1600 metres. His three starts have produced a win over 1900 metres and a second placing over 2400 metres on poly-tracks in Britain, so he may get back from his outside gate (9) but will be finding the line strongly. NZ TAB fixed odds: $9.00 & $2.40.
6:00 p.m. (NZ) ~ 4:00 pm. (Vic) R7 12 The Victress (3 f Zousain – Liesele) – Daniel Moor; she quickened through from last to finish fifth in the Benchmark 58 1200 metres on 28 April at Mornington, also with Moor aboard, and contests the A$27,000 Benchmark 64 1100 metres. She has been plagued by bad draws, but has nevertheless run good sectionals at her last two outings. She does have proven ability, and is capable of proving competitive from a handier gate (5). NZ TAB fixed odds: $27.00 & $5.50.
