Te Akau Kyneton Tuesday Preview
22 October, 2024
Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Tuesday 22 October at Kyneton (Victoria).
Kyneton:
Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 4 metres. No rain forecast.
3:30 p.m. (NZ) ~ 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R2 8 Gruzamba (3 g Grunt – Wazamba) – Ethan Brown; travelled third in the open but found plenty to comfortably win jump out on 7 October at Cranbourne, with Brown aboard, and debuts in the A$27,000 Maiden 1112 metres. By exciting young sire Grunt (O’Reilly), dual Group One winner over 1600 metres, dam Wazamba (Exceed And Excel) was a consistent sprinter that won over 1100 metres in Australia. He looked good in a jump out and is ideally drawn (4) to prove competitive first-up. NZ TAB fixed odds: $2.00 & $1.20.
4:00 p.m. R3 5 (NZ time) Scottie’s Legacy (4 m Almanzor – Kay’s Legacy) – Ethan Brown; she went at comfortable pace in front when winning jump out on 7 October at Cranbourne, and resumes in the A$27,000 Maiden 1469 metres. Having first start for stable, she finished well for third over 1400 metres when debuting last season at Tauranga, in a race won by subsequent winner Rule Of Law (Justify) trained by Walker & Bergerson. From a family well known to Te Akau, through the deeds of Rise ‘N’ Shine (Zabeel) and Wide Awake (Savabeel), she shapes to race well if she can secure luck from the wide draw (12). NZ TAB fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.70.
