Te Akau Manawatu Preview

7 April, 2016

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme on Friday 8 April at Awapuni.

As on Thursday 7 April the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail out 5 metres.

4.54 p.m. R8 3 Cathedral Cove (4 g Zabeel - Thistle Cove) - Michael McNab; recorded a promising debut win over 1900 metres at Wairoa, with this rider aboard, backing up three days later with a strong fourth on the same course. Given time since, he contests the Rating 65 2100 metres. From a wide barrier, he will be let find his feet, as he was first up, and look to get home strongly.

4.54 p.m. R8 5 Echezeaux (4 m Encosta De Lago - Grand Echezeaux) - Matt Cameron; recorded a dominant win here over a mile on Dead4 footing and maintained a good gallop for second when stepped up in distance for the first time in the Rating 65 2050 metres at Tauherenikau. In an even field, she appears a top three chance from barrier four.
