Te Akau Matamata Preview
9 October, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the nine race programme on Saturday 10 October at Matamata.
As on Friday 9 October the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail true.
12.32 p.m. R1 3 Bon Marche (4 g Nom Du Jeu - Las Vegas Lass) - Matt Cameron; was scratched off Slow9 last Sunday at Waipa, and races 31 days after a tenacious third over a mile at Te Rapa. A race in which the horse that finished second, Real Thirsty (Nadeem), has since won. Although not overly big, has carried the 58.5kgs creditably and likely to press forward from the outset he appears a genuine chance in the Maiden 1600 metres.
3.26 p.m. R6 8 Highly Likely (5 g High Chaparral - Starrinka) - Matt Cameron; travelled comfortably in front and saw off challengers to win the Rating 65 2100 metres last Friday on Slow7 at Te Rapa, with Cameron Lammas aboard, and up in grade contests the Rating 75 2000 metres. Similar tactics will apply and he has a good record on the home course.
