Te Akau Matamata Preview
26 September, 2018
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Wednesday 26 September at Matamata.
Weather: showery, track: Slow7, rail: out 11 metres
2.52 p.m. R5 3 Pacific Coast (4 g Snitzel - Malibu Road) - Jason Waddell; looked to have a bright future when winning the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres fresh-up on Dead6 here in March, and following two trials he resumes in the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. Drawn barrier two, he looks an each way chance in this field. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.20.
4.04 p.m. R7 7 Seirios (4 g Pierro - Irish Lights) - Nik Bakar (a4); resumed under a good ride by Bakar to win the Rating 65 1400 metres here on Slow7 a fortnight ago and steps up in the $11,000 Rating 72 1600 metres. A strong and improving horse, from Group One winning parents, claiming to 54.5kgs certainly helps in a bid to win three in row against a pretty solid midweek field. Fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.25.
