Te Akau New Zealand has six horses racing on Wednesday 10 April at Otaki.
As on Tuesday 9 April the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail true. Showers overnight Tuesday, 9mls rain forecast Wednesday.
Note: update race morning - Opie Bosson replacement riders ...
12.34 p.m. R1 4 Te Akau Dragon (3 g Power - Cool Diamond) - Johnathan Parkes; kept up a solid gallop for third equal off a good trip in the Maiden 1600 metres on 27 March at Matamata, following third over 1600 metres at Woodville on the 17th. Drawn barrier six in the $10,000 Maiden 2YO & Up 1400 metres, he appears ideally placed to rate a top three chance again.
1.09 p.m. R2 8 Shebringsmerubies (3 f Sebring - Run Away Ruby) - Dylan Turner; trialled solidly for fourth in February at Avondale, before finishing seventh on debut in the Maiden 1215 metres on 20 March at Rotorua. She is ideally drawn (2) to produce an improved performance in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres.
1.44 p.m. R3 1 Red Jakkal (3 g Jakkalberry - Red Alert) - Dylan Turner; given time following a strong finish for second in September at Rotorua, he resumed on the same course with an all the way win in the Maiden 3YO 1215 metres on 20 March with Bosson aboard, running the fastest last 600m (33.8) on the day. Up in grade to contest the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres, he brings the right form to threaten from barrier three.
2.19 p.m. R4 7 Enduring Love (3 f Camelot - Holy Moly) - Robert Hannam; was bombed on the line when second in the Maiden 1200 metres on 21 March at New Plymouth, after racing solidly in some strong fields. Deserving of success, she is ideally drawn (2) and gets her chance in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres.
2.54 p.m. R5 1 Boutonniere (2 g Burgundy - Bouquet) - Shaun McKay; stretched out very well for second at the trials before finishing third on debut in the 2YO 900 metres on 3 October at Ruakaka. Given time since, he trialled well twice in March and with the blinkers on should race well in the $10,000 Maiden 2YO 1000 metres.
3.29 p.m. R6 6 Man Oh Man (3 g Reliable Man - Lumir) - Robert Hannam; looked good winning a trial on 26 February at Avondale, before a close fifth on debut in the Maiden 1400 metres on 20 March at Rotorua. Bred to develop into a staying type, he rates a top three chance stepping up in the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres.
