Te Akau track work highlights - Wednesday July 16 -
Course proper, right-handed (Heavy):
Prospero (Hercock) worked over 800 metres in 57, last 600m in 42.8. Eyeing race options this weekend, Prospero (High Chaparral) will more than likely take his place in the Benchmark 85 2100 metres on Saturday at Te Rapa. With two thirds and fourth from only three starts on the course, it seems a logical step and currently rated 71 he
carries 56kgs.
Two-Year-Old Grass track (Slow):
Atua (Hercock) galloped solo over 800 metres in 54.9, last 600m in 39.9. Opulent (Richards) and Tricoteuse (Miller) went 800m in 56.2, last 600m in 39.8. Cathedral Cove (Miller - pictured below right), Latin Rose (Hercock - pictured below left) and 2 f Mastercraftsman - Due Diligence (Richards - pictured below centre) worked at three-quarter pace over 600 metres.
Sand track:
Urban Angel (Hercock) galloped solo over 800 metres in 57.2, last 600m in 41.8. Darci's Dream (Hercock) covered the 800m in 55.9, last 600m in 41.2.
Alchemy's Flight (Hercock), Rapid Gain (Roff), Show No Emotion (Hercock), Wolfwhistle (Hercock) went together over 800 metres at three-quarter pace.
Following his first trial outing, for fourth over 850 metres at Te Awamutu, the staying prospect Sequitur (2 c High Chaparral - Deduction) was pace worked by Davey Ellis.
Yearlings on the all-weather track:
Affinee (1 f Exceed and Excel - Household) (Miller) and 1 f Minstrel Court - Paixanito (Allen) worked up the straight at three-quarter pace on the all-weather track. As did, 1 c Fastnet Rock - Festival Princess (Allen), 1 c Fastnet Rock - Morgalicious (Richards) and 1 c Pins - Laurinel Princess (Miller).
Going up the straight at half-pace was: Lady Pinot (1 f Starspangledbanner - Madame Echezeaux (Miller), Windborne (1 f Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) (Richards) and 1 f Encosta De Lago - Love Diamonds (Allen).
