Te Akau Midweek Trackwork
3 September, 2014
Te Akau track work highlights - Wednesday September 3 -
Course proper, right-handed (Slow):
In preparation to resume racing on Saturday at Wanganui, Merrily (Hercock) and Rapid Gain (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1:07.5, last 600m 37.4. Merrily (O'Reilly) will contest the Rating 65 1200 metres and Rapid Gain (Flying Spur) the Rating 75 1340 metres. With some showers predicted closer to the time, trainer Jason Bridgman is hoping the track remains as close to the current Good3 rating as possible.
Aboard Rapid Gain (main picture earlier this year), Daniel Miller said: “They ran up quite nice time and both worked well. Merrily crossed the line under a good hold from Kate (Hercock) and Rapid Gain is pretty well in himself and it's probably the best he's been this time in.
