Plough:
Preparing for their respective two-year-old stakes races at the premier meeting on Saturday at Matamata, Flaming (Hercock) and Rockfast (Misbah) worked over 800 metres in 54 and 39.5 for the final 600m. Flaming (Bachelor Duke), an impressive last start winner, will be a favoured contender for the Matamata Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m), as too Rockfast (Fastnet Rock) in the colts and geldings equivalent: the Matamata Slipper (Listed, 1200m).

Working right-handed on a Dead5 course proper, Riverenza (Misbah) and Speeding (Hercock) went over 1400 metres. They cut out 1200m in 1:17.2, last 600m in 36.3. Both are scheduled to run over ground at their next outings: Riverenza (King's Chapel) in the Benchmark 65 2100 metres on Sunday at Wairoa, and Speeding (Volksraad) next Wednesday, Feb. 26, over the same trip at Te Rapa.

Scheduled to trial next Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Paeroa, Davey Crockett (Hercock), Flying Solo (Misbah) and Maestro (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1:04.4, last 600m in 37.7. 2 f King's Chapel - Sea Rhythm (O'Grady) and 2 f Minstrel Court - Palais Jamai (Hercock) covered 800m in 53. Our Drahma Queen (Miller) and 2 f Red Giant - Mantles Princess (Misbah) went 52 for the 800m, last 600m 38.7. Light Source (Misbah), 2 f Minstrel Court - La Conga (Hercock) and Rock ‘N' Sox (Miller) ran 800m in 54, last 600m in 39.2. Imperium (Misbah) and 2 c Murtajill - Silent Smytzer (Hercock) covered 800m in 55, last 600m in 42.

Flying Therese (Hercock) worked over 800 metres in 57.2, last 600m in 42. Quintette (Hercock) and 2 f Saperavi - Zorina (Misbah) covered 800m in 57.1, last 600m in 42.1.
