Te Akau Midweek Update

We have had 80 mls of rain at Te Akau Stud this week - but the rain stopped today and the gale force winds died away which means we had a lovely warm day with plenty of grass growth.
This morning we had six racehorses who have been spelling on the farm returning back to the stable and tomorrow we have four yearlings, who have finished their breaking in part of their education, heading into the stable.
Everyone at the farm was really excited as today we had our two yearlings from the Gold Coast arrive home - our Fastnet Rock filly who cost A$300,000 and our O'Reilly colt I bought for A$40,000.
We will have some photos for you tomorrow but it was getting a bit dark unfortunately! Both yearlings have beautiful pedigrees and are top class individuals who have been sold to some very good judges - both sold within 24 hours of me buying them. We will start breaking them in from tomorrow.
This brings the number of yearlings that we have bought to 48 this year and I am proud to say that every share of every horse has been sold - we can't thank you enough for your stellar support.
Karyn and I are having a lovely week and are thoroughly enjoying having our daughter Lydia home from London - our children are all grown up so it is a huge bonus when they come to stay.
