Te Akau Midweek Update

It has been a very busy time on the farm with the docking almost completed - all of our staff are flat out - and foals are being born!

We were thrilled to receive news yesterday of our first foal by Burgundy - a filly - and we look forward to getting some pics to you as soon as they arrive.  Speaking of foals, we can share the news that our little orphan Rock 'n' Pop lad who we are calling Eddy (after his mum) is doing well and is holding his own, having bonded nicely with his foster mum.

Mark of course trained yet another winner last weekend - the $100,000 feature race on Friday at Kranji going the way of the 5YO Golden Sand Steed.

I bought this colt by Pins from Ambitious out of the Waikato Stud draft at Karaka for $65,000.  He has now won $455,602 in his 25 starts - winning eight races and placing 14 other times - so only three times not in the money.  What a great result for his owner St Resources Stable.

Again we wanted to say how proud we are of Jason and Daniel for the awards they received at the Matamata Racing Club annual awards' night on Monday.  As Jason said, the awards reflect so much hard work by so many - and we are beyond proud!  Here's a shot of the trophy Jason received too (oops typo)!
