Te Akau Monday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the six-race programme on Monday June 16 at Hawera.

As on Sunday June 15 the conditions were: overcast and Slow9, rail true.

1:43pm R3 9 My Fiancée (4 m Snitzel - Meet My Sis) - Matt Cameron; won a recent trial on slow footing with her ears pricked and resumes off 140-days in the Maiden 1200 metres. She was unlucky not to have claimed a win through her three-year-old season, finished third at the corresponding meet last season, can act fresh and should strike footing to suit.

2:13pm R4 9 Fast Fiction (4 g Fastnet Rock - Paperback) - Matt Cameron; resumes from a 294-day break. He recorded a five-length debut victory on June 6 last season in the Maiden 3YO 1100 metres on Heavy10 ground at New Plymouth, and kicks off from barrier six in the Benchmark 65 1200 metres. Held together off the pace, he worked home solidly in a recent trial and should have derived good improvement.

2:48pm R5 7 Redoute's Chance (3 g Redoute's Choice - Lady's Delight) - Matt Cameron; makes his debut in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres, having finished close up in third at the trials to race rival Gesemi (Ekraar) who has since finished third on debut in a Maiden 3YO 1600 metres and could start favourite here. He is presented with an ideal assignment to begin his racing career and appears the type to improve if able to produce a confidence boosting run.
