Te Akau Monday Update

I get a special thrill out of selling the last share in a yearling. On Saturday the 'fully sold' sign went up on two beautiful fillies.
The first was the final share in the Smart Missile filly that I bought in Sydney - this share was sold to a good client from Hamilton and we know he will have a lot of fun with her.
The second filly to be sold to happy new owners was the Medaglio D'Ora filly I purchased on the Gold Coast last week. She wasn't very well presented for the sale and it will be fascinating to see how she does at Te Akau because I can see what she will develop into, in even just two to three months. I get a big thrill out of improving horses.
One thing I am certain about is that by October she will look amazing. No wonder Steve and Jamie have such a spring in their step …. we really have a lovely team for next season.
Karyn and our youngest daughter Julia Rose have arrived in London and they were greeted at London airport by Lydia. The three girls have a week together in Sicily before I arrive next Tuesday (all to be updated by the girls - Ed!).
It's great as usual to be home - I arrived back on Sunday and was thrilled to see Mark Walker win yet another race last night with Sacred Spin for the Raffles' Farm team - it's first winner for June! First thing today I will be inspecting every horse on the farm that is spelling and am looking forward to seeing how well they are doing.
I also thought you'd enjoy the main pic of bloodstock agent Phil Cataldo, Mark and I recently with the Waikato Stud team - an 'outdoor recreation' day!
Have a great week!!
