Te Akau Mornington Friday Preview
4 September, 2025
Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Friday 5 September at Mornington (Victoria).
Mornington:
Weather: overcast, track: Soft5, rail: out 8 metres. No rain forecast.
3:30 p.m. (NZ) ~ 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R1 9 Toroness (4 m Toronado – Single Princess) – Liam Riordan; she found the line and finished not far away on the inner when having her first start for the stable in the Maiden 1205 metres on 16 August at Warracknabeal. Contesting the A$32,000 Maiden 1000 metres, she is ideally drawn (3) to race well again. NZ TAB fixed odds: $19.00 & $3.70.
4:00 p.m. (NZ) ~ 2:00 p.m. (Vic) R2 7 Kiwi Raider (3 f Per Incanto – Anaween) – Ethan Brown; she travelled well with cover and quickened appreciably on the bridle to win a jump out on 18 August at Cranbourne, also with Brown aboard, and debuts from barrier five in the A$32,000 Maiden 3YO 1000 metres. Her dam Anaween (More Than Ready) has left three winners of 13 races (1100m – 2400m), and she certainly looks to have top three credentials if she emulates her recent jump out win. NZ TAB fixed odds: $2.30 & $1.35.
