Te Akau Mornington Tuesday Preview
23 December, 2025
Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Tuesday 23 December at Mornington (Melbourne).
Weather: cloudy, track: Good4, rail: out 8 metres. No rain forecast.
3.30 p.m. (NZ) - 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R1 6 Regal Banter (2 f King’s Legacy – Chit Chat) – Luke Cartwright (a1); she began well to lead and sustained a good gallop to finish second in a jump out on 15 December at Cranbourne. Debuting in the A$32,000 Maiden 2YO 1200 metres, her dam Chit Chat (Anabaa), won four races from 1400m – 1600m, including at this track, and she in turn is out of Group 1 Auckland Cup (3200m) winner Upsetthym. She performed well in her jump out as mentioned and she’s got the ideal gate (3) to commence her racing career with a solid showing. NZ TAB fixed odds: $2.70 & $1.20.
4.30 p.m. (NZ) - 2:30 p.m. (Vic) R3 8 Veomas (3 g I Am Invincible – Midnight Revels) – Luke Cartwright (a1); he was shuffled back to last before closing strongly down the outside for third in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 5 December at Cranbourne, and contests the A$32,000 Maiden 1200 metres. He finished second at his previous start in the Maiden 1450 metres on 13 October at Kilmore, won a trial on 20 November at Caulfield, and brings right form to this contest to prove competitive as long as things go his way from the wide draw (11). TAB fixed odds: $3.70 & $1.55.
6.30 p.m. (NZ) - 4:30 p.m. (Vic) R7 5 Sky Sista (4 m Overshare – Woogie) – Luke Cartwright (a1); she was swamped late after co-leading in the Benchmark 62 1300 metres on 18 October at Bendigo, and finished fourth when racing on the pace in a jump out on 17 November at Cranbourne. Contesting the A$27,000 Benchmark 62 1200 metres, she was a winner over 1300 metres in May, but is another that’s copped a tricky barrier (10) which doesn’t assist her winning cause. TAB fixed odds: $5.50 & $1.95.
