Te Akau New Plymouth Friday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Friday 24 March at New Plymouth.

Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 11 metres. No rain forecast.

1:37 p.m. R3 8 Zakaya (3 f Reliable Man - Zarzing) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); she has been given time (30 days) since racing keenly in the Pearl Series Maiden 1400 metres in February at Pukekohe, and contests the $14,000 NZB Insurance Pearl Series Maiden Fillies & Mares 1300 metres. The blinkers are off, and she is capable of an improved performance from barrier two.

3:23 p.m. R6 3 Invincibeel (4 m Savabeel - Matakana) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); she was pocketed back in the field before finishing strongly for second in the $14,000 Rating 65 1800 metres on 8 March at Taupo, and contests the corresponding event. She is a good quality mare and rates a top three chance.

4:28 p.m. R8 8 Firriato (3 f Almanzor - Deliciano) - Sam Weatherley; she produced a good effort for third in the Maiden 1400 metres here on 17 February, and was third again in the corresponding event on 8 March at Taupo. Racing well, she looks a top three prospect in the $14,000 Maiden 3YO 1600 metres.
