Te Akau New Plymouth Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the eight-race twilight programme on Monday Dec. 22 at New Plymouth.

As on Sunday Dec. 21 the conditions were: showery and Slow7, rail true.

3.45 p.m. R2 6 Sonsy (3 f Thorn Park - Flowing) - Matt Cameron; was less than one length from the winner when resuming with a tidy fourth on Nov. 29 in the Maiden 1400 metres at Ellerslie, and she strikes a weaker field in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres. She has the pedigree to appreciate a mile, and further, and appears the likely favourite from barrier two.

4.20 p.m. R3 14 Got the Snitz (3 f Snitzel - Modave) - Matt Cameron; resumes off 198-days in the Maiden 1100 metres, with one trial under her belt. She displayed a bit of zip winning her first trial and should receive a perfect trip from barrier two. Her unraced dam, Modave (Montjeu), is a sister to Avondale Cup (Gr. 1, 2200m) winner Sharvasti, from the top race mare and producer Vedodara (Kreisler).
