Te Akau New Plymouth Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Friday 23 November at New Plymouth - twilight meeting.

As on Thursday 22 November the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 9 metres. No rain forecast.

4.29 p.m. R4 12 Together (4 m Ocean Park - More to Love) - Lisa Allpress; looked above average at the trials before finishing fifth on debut in March, and given time she quickened nicely for a close second when trialling on 1 November at Te Aroha. Bred and owned by Waikato Stud, from the lightly tried but talented Danasinga mare More to Love. Her grand-dam, Flying Floozie (Pompeii Court), made a huge name for herself as the dam of world-class galloper Starcraft (Soviet Star). Tucked in behind the pace from barrier eight, she seems capable of threatening first up in the $10,000 Maiden 1100 metres.

5.39 p.m. R6 16 Savy Yong Blonk (3 f Savabeel - Ampin) - Samantha Collett; debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres. From a Pins mare, in turn from impressive winning race mare Ambitious (Last Tycoon) who finished second in the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m), she looked good through the line when having a quiet trial on 1 November at Te Aroha. Ideally drawn in barrier two, finding the line boldly could see her as a top four chance.

6.46 p.m. R8 20 Luminous (3 f Reliable Man - Keenly) - Matt Cameron; has been patiently handled through the trials stage, finishing close up on 1 November at Te Aroha, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. A standout white filly, from the talented race mare Keenly (Keeninsky), winner of three races up to 2200 metres, she has a high-quality depth of stallions on her dam side, shapes as a staying type filly in the making and capable of a solid first up performance.
