Te Akau New Zealand has nine horses racing on 27 December: Rotorua, and New Plymouth. 






Rotorua:





Weather: fine, track: Dead6, rail: true. 





1.02 p.m. R2 6 Oceans Eight (4 m Ocean Park - Ruud Van Slaats) - Shaun McKay; sat second but unable to claim the leader on 11 December in the Maiden 1300 metres at Hastings. She was denied room in each of her two starts prior, including here on 19 November, and has the addition of blinkers in the $10,000 Maiden 4YO & Up 1215 metres. Fixed odds: $2.40 & $1.25.





1.37 p.m. R3 4 Witchery (5 m Savabeel - Now the World) - Danielle Johnson; came from last to finish fourth when resuming in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 24 November at Te Rapa, but unable to make an impression from last in the corresponding race on 6 December at Matamata. Placed at her only course attempt, barrier two could aid rating a top three chance in the $10,000 NZB Pearl Series Rating 65 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $2.40 & $1.25.





3.57 p.m. R7 15 Oceana Lad (3 g Ocean Park - Excuse O') - Cameron Lammas; trialled well and not far away when debuting for sixth in the Maiden 1100 metres on 5 December at New Plymouth. With the pedigree to go further, he appears suited stepping up in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.20.

1.20 p.m. R2 16 Excitonic (3 g Savabeel - Bint Piavonic) - Michael McNab; given time after racing in October, he did everything right when winning a trial on 3 December at Te Aroha. Contesting the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres, he appears ideally placed to prove competitive. Fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.85.





1.20 p.m. R2 17 Miss Hepburn (4 m Reliable Man - Love the Limelight) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); finished close up fifth when trialling on 26 November at Cambridge, and following a start in May she resumes in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. Aided by weight relief to 53.5kgs, she seems destined to go further but ideally drawn (2) to race well first-up. Fixed odds: $8.00 & $2.40.





1.55 p.m. R3 1 Boutonniere  (3 g Burgundy - Bouquet) - Michael McNab; recorded two notable efforts for third as a two-year-old and resumed with a third in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1100 metres here on 5 December. He brings the right all-round form to prove competitive from barrier one in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400m metres. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.25.





1.55 p.m. R3 10 Madame Cherie (3 f Ocean Park - Glitterati) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); fought solidly for fourth when trialling on 10 December at Avondale, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400m metres. She gets weight relief to 52.5kgs and the type to improve with racing. Fixed odds: $17.00 & $4.00. 





4.15 p.m. R7 1 Ginger Too  (3 g Iffraaj - La Chiflota) - Michael McNab; followed a solid debut fourth at Tauranga, hitting the line strongly to win the Maiden 1400 metres on 12 November at Te Aroha. Given time (45 days), he rates an each way chance from barrier four in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $2.70 & $1.30.





4.48 p.m. R8 5 Zareeba  (4 m Rip Van Winkle - Surooh) - Craig Grylls; capped solid performances with a comfortable win here in the Maiden 2000 metres on 5 December and rises in grade to contest the $10,000 Rating 65 2000 metres. Ideally drawn (4), she has the right attributes to measure up. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $1.85.
