Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on 30 December: Taupo and Kurow.

3:57 p.m. R7 3 Devoted (4 g Contributer - Mapmaker) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); worked into a good spot but was unable to quicken in a Rating 65 1600 metres on 11 December at Awapuni, and steps up in the $12,000 Rating 65 1800 metres. He has weight relief to 54.5kg, but requires luck from the awkward barrier 12.

3:04 p.m. R6 5 Zouluminous (5 m Zoustar - Luminous Harmony) - Sanu Toolooa (a3); built nicely to win a Rating 74 1800 metres during Cup Week at Riccarton, was freshened and sustained a good run for fourth at the trials (poly-track) on 14 December at Riccarton. Resuming in the $12,000 Rating 74 1400 metres, she enjoys weight relief to 54.5kg and rates a top four chance from the handy barrier two.
