Te Akau NZ Counties Preview
Date: 30 Oct 2013
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered during the ten-race programme on Wednesday Oct. 30 at Pukekohe.
As at 4:12pm on Monday Oct. 28 the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail out 6 metres.
2:20pm R4 3 Longbeach (3 c Fastnet Rock - Betwixt) - Opie Bosson; worked along in front and fought solidly for fifth when debuting on Oct. 10 over 1400 metres at Taupo. The winner, Miss Foxwood, has since finished third to Bounding, and Spellbinder, in the Sarten Memorial (Gr. 3, 1400m) at Te Rapa. While not lacking for size and strength, he has continued to improve ahead of this assignment over 1400 metres and coming from a family of genuine performers he appears a type that will keep getting better.
4:40pm R8 9 Exabelle (5 m Exceed and Excel - Avabelle) - Matt Cameron; did well to finish sixth after having no favours off the pace and wide through the run on Oct. 4 in the Benchmark 65 1400 metres on dead footing at Te Rapa. Third-up, she comes out of a strong race, should appreciate stepping to a mile, and has worked well for the assignment.
5:15pm R9 6 Urban Angel (5 m Savabeel - Tutuland) - Michael Dee (a3); ran a game third to subsequent winner Sultry Assassin resuming on Oct. 9 over 1400 metres on dead ground at Taupo. She has recorded both wins over a mile on dead footing, raced very well on this course previously, carries 52.5kgs, and should receive all favours from barrier four.
