Te Akau NZ Ellerslie Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the ten-race premier programme on Saturday Nov. 30 at Ellerslie.

As on Friday Nov. 29 the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail true.

3:46pm R6 13 Ruthless Lady (3 f Keeper - Lady Dehere) - Kelly Myers; ran home nicely for second here to stable-mate Spellbinder (O'Reilly) on Sept. 29 in the Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m), on Slow9 footing. Having trialled in the interim, she resumes from a break of 63-days in the Trevor Eagle Memorial 3YO (Listed, 1500m). Already a winner on dead ground, the improved footing from her last outing should work favourably and she has the quality amongst this line-up to be competitive from barrier five - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

3:46 R6 19 King Savinsky (3 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Matt Cameron; has been freshened-up since finishing fourth to subsequent 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) winner Atlante (Fastnet Rock) in the Canterbury Stakes (Listed, 1600m) on Oct. 26 at Riccarton. Campaigning to get over more ground, he has the foot speed to position handily from barrier one and form behind winning stable-mate Aspen (Alamosa), Congressman (Conatus), and Cauthen (Darci Brahma) to give a sight at the business end.
