Te Akau NZ Friday Trackwork
21 June, 2013
Te Akau track work Friday June 21
Course proper right-handed (Heavy):
A recent winner on debut by five lengths, three-year-old Fastnet Rock (Danehill) gelding Fast Fiction provided the highlight of the morning. Jockey Emmett Stack revealed Fast Fiction relished the conditions and could have come clear had he wanted. Kept held, he worked with Darci's Gold (Walters) in 1:25.9 for the 1200 metres, last 600m in 41.3. It was good work from both. Tenacious when third last start at Te Rapa, Darci's Gold appears on target for the Benchmark 75 1200 metres on Saturday June 29 at Ruakaka, while Fast Fiction is scheduled for the Benchmark 65 1200 metres on Wednesday July 10 at Pukekohe.
Also for Ruakaka in respective assignments over a mile, two mares of above average ability: Goyescas (Miller) and Urban Angel (Walters) covered 1200 metres in 1:27.8, last 600m in 40.6.
Preparing for the maiden mile at Ruakaka, Sneaky Feelings (Walters) went 1200 metres in 1:26.5, last 600m 43.3, with My Fiancée (Miller) who worked up nicely despite the wet conditions and awaits a 1200m or 1400m start during the upcoming meetings on either July 1 at Matamata, July 3 at Te Rapa, or July 4 at Waverley.
Pride and Passion (Miller) who awaits early July options over 1200 metres, as too Kayleen (Walters), went over 1200 metres in 1:27, last 600 in 41.5.
