1:50pm R2 5 Sunset Pass (5 g Yamanin Vital - Janet's Chance) - Craig Grylls; went forward on a solid pace and finished seventh, in a race where the first three home came from off the pace, on Oct. 26 in the Benchmark 65 2400 metres on Good3 footing at Ellerslie. He strikes a weaker line up here over 2100 metres, found the line for sixth at his only previous course attempt, and can prove a factor from barrier six.
5:10pm R8 1 Peerage (4 g O'Reilly - Chimeara) - Mick Dee (a2); has had a wind operation and now makes his debut in the Maiden 1400 metres from an outside draw. A rangy, big horse, he finished third at his most recent trial and has shown ability at home in gallops. His dam, Chimeara (Danehill), was impressive winning over 1200m and 1600 metres, while at stud she has left million dollar earner De Beers (Quest for Fame). His grand-dam, Tristalove (Sir Tristram) was Head of the 1992-93 2YO Free Handicaps, and in turn her dam was Diamond Lover (Sticks and Stones).
