Te Akau NZ Paeroa Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered during the eight-race programme for the Waikato Racing Club on Monday October 14 at Paeroa.

As at 7:55am on Sunday Oct. 13 the conditions were: cloudy and Slow9, rail true.

1:10pm R2 3 Flirty Gertey (3 f Thorn Park - Granma Gertey) - Matt Cameron; settled nicely in second after flying the gates and taking it to the favourite, Frankly, at the 250 metres she was beaten a nose, as the pair drew seven lengths clear of third, when debuting on Sept. 22 over 1350 metres at Gisborne. Three weeks later she strips in good order for the Maiden 3YO 1350 metres and while likely to prove very competitive if she takes her place, trainer Jason Bridgman would like to see improvement in the track conditions. Her dam, Granma Gertey (Danzero), finished second on debut in the Blue Diamond Preview (Gr. 3, 1000m) at Caulfield, and returned to the same venue off a spell to again run second in the Quizette Stakes (Listed, 1200m).

4:41pm R8 11 Milan Miss (4 m Darci Brahma - Falaniella) - Michael Dee (a3); was never in contention resuming on Sept. 9 in the Benchmark 65 1300 metres at Taupo, and now with blinkers on she steps to 1670 metres. She missed a start when the meeting on Oct. 2 was cancelled at Ruakaka, and carrying 51kgs the team are looking for an improved performance.
