Te Akau NZ Riccarton Saturday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Saturday 3 August at Riccarton.

Riccarton:

Weather: fine, track: Heavy10, rail: true. No rain forecast.

11:10 a.m. R1 6 Treaty of Paris (5 g Tavistock – Echezeaux) – Hamish McNeill (a); he raced away for a 6.5 length victory in the Rating 65 & Jumpers 2200 metres here on the poly track on 26 July, and today makes his jumps' debut in the $30,000 Maiden Hurdle over 3100m. He's a determined customer that brings top fitness levels to this contest however much depends on him handling the prevailing heavy track conditions. Fixed odds: $2.40 & $1.20.

3:10 p.m. R8 7 Kabugee (5 g Satono Aladdin – Kabuki) – Warren Kennedy; he sustained a strong finish from beyond midfield to claim third on Heavy10 footing in the $35,000 Rating 75 1400 metres on 21 July at Oamaru, also with Kennedy aboard, and contests the corresponding event. He is a horse that has solid form on these types of winter tracks and hence he has definite first four claims. Fixed odds: $4.60 & $1.95.

3:45 p.m. R9 8 Freeze Frame (5 g Vadamos – Snow Petal) – Warren Kennedy; this super-consistent horse  (main picture) continued his excellent form when recording a close up second in the Te Awamutu Cup (Open Handicap, 1600m) on 6 July at Te Rapa. He will be the stable's first stakes' contestant for the new season as he takes his place in the Group 3 $110,000 Winning Edge Presentations 127th Winter Cup over 1600m. His last five starts have been on better going at Te Rapa, but he is raced very well and undoubtedly has the ability to prove competitive if he handles the winter track conditions. Fixed odds: $9.00 & $3.30.
