Te Akau New Zealand has four horses entered for the eight-race programme on Sunday Dec. 8 at Waipukurau.

As on Saturday Dec. 7 the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail true.

1:15pm R2 8 Fast Fiction (4 g Fastnet Rock - Paperback) - Mick Dee (a2); resumes from a 104-day break. He recorded a five-length debut victory on June 6 in Maiden 3YO 1100 metres on Heavy10 ground at New Plymouth, and kicks off from barrier eight in the Benchmark 65 1200 metres. Although without a trial he shows good residual fitness and can act fresh.

2:15pm R4 4 Cajero (4 g Encosta De Lago - Cashier) - Mick Dee (a2); brings form of a second and first, respectively, in recent trials ahead of this debut assignment in the Maiden 2100 metres. He has shown adequate levels of fitness to step over a middle distance first up and strikes an ideal opportunity to commence his career.

2:50pm R5 8 Exabelle (5 m Exceed and Excel - Avabelle) - Mick Dee (a2); has continued to train well since finishing 2.8 lengths from the winner in a more competitive field on Nov. 24 in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres at Te Rapa. She has shown in the past to be a mare that gets better with racing and suited by a touch of give in the ground she can prove competitive from barrier four in the corresponding event.

3:25pm R6 7 Milan Miss (4 m Darci Brahma - Falaniella) - Mick Dee (a2); displayed a good turn of foot, after being held up rounding the home turn, when winning by nearly three lengths on Nov. 22 in the Benchmark 65 2000 metres at New Plymouth. Prior to, in the Benchmark 65 2060 metres at Wanganui, she won off the front by one and a half lengths. Up in grade for the Benchmark 75 2200 metres, she has certainly found her forte over ground and from barrier one brings the right fitness and form to prove competitive again.
