Te Akau NZ Tauranga Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight-race programme on Friday Jan. 10 at Tauranga.

As on Thursday Jan. 9 the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true.

1:10pm R2 2 Pride and Passion (5 m Encosta De Lago - Calaway Gal) - Matt Cameron; began smartly, coming from third for a stylish win on Dec. 24 when resuming from a 154-day break in the Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres at New Plymouth. In foal to Burgundy (Redoute's Choice), she has done well in the interim and steps up in the Benchmark 65 1300 metres from barrier five. Although meeting a different level of horse, she has the ability to make an immediate impact in this grade.

2:55pm R5 4 Show No Emotion (4 m Pins - Lynisky) - Matt Cameron; lacked for clear galloping room on Dec. 18 in the Benchmark 65 1400 metres at Matamata, having got the job done in no uncertain terms when resuming from a 213-day break on Dec. 2 in the Maiden 1400 metres at Te Aroha. Drawn wide over a mile, she can prove a threat if able to secure a decent run in transit.
