Te Akau NZ Te Aroha Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered during the nine-race programme on Wednesday October 23 at Te Aroha.

As at 8:51am on Tuesday Oct. 22 the conditions were: cloudy and Good3, rail out 7 metres.

1:10pm R2 2 Hardcore Rock (3 c Fastnet Rock - River Dreaming) - Matt Cameron; utilized barrier one, settling handy to the pace and quickening into a duel at the 300 metres he finished three-quarters of a length second, with a gap to third, over 1400 metres on Oct. 7 on good ground at Avondale. He was off a break of 28-days since finishing third on debut at Taupo. 16-days later, he contests the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres from barrier two and appears a strong chance.

5:15pm R9 13 Exabelle (5 m Exceed and Excel - Avabelle) - Matt Cameron; did well to finish sixth after having no favours off the pace and wide through the run on Oct. 4 in the Benchmark 65 1400 metres on dead footing at Te Rapa. Fitter for two starts in the past month she has drawn beautifully in barrier four, comes out of a strong race, should appreciate stepping to a mile, and has worked well for the assignment.
