Te Akau NZ Te Rapa Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the eleven-race programme on Wednesday Sept. 10 at Te Rapa.

As on Tuesday Sept. 9 the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail out 6 metres.

11.35 a.m. R1 12 Vive La Difference (3 f Choisir - L'Artiste) - Matt Cameron; resumes in the Maiden 1200 metres, from barrier nine should the ballots be scratched. She spelled after displaying a good action and stretch for sixth on debut in the Maiden 2YO 1100 metres in April at Matamata, and showed determination when getting the upper hand late to win an 800-metre trial on Aug. 5 at Te Teko. A sizeable filly whose dam won over 1600m & 2000m, she will settle off the pace and look to be running home strongly.

12.08 p.m. R2 7 Rockfast (3 c Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Princess) - Matt Cameron; bagged two seconds and a third in three juvenile starts, including runner-up in the Matamata Slipper (Listed, 1200m) and resumes off 182-days from barrier three in the Maiden 1200 metres. He showed to have come on nicely when recording a stylish trial win recently at Te Teko, and given the likelihood of an economical trip he appears a strong chance.

5.16 p.m. R11 7 King's Rock (4 g Fastnet Rock - Nureyev's Girl) - Matt Cameron; resumes from a spell in the Rating 65 1400 metres, having won on slow footing when making his debut over the same trip at the corresponding meet last season. Antonio Lombardo (Pins) and Blizzard (Any Suggestion) have already been race day winners from his trial over 1040 metres on Aug. 5 at Te Teko, and finishing in encouraging fashion from off the pace will set him up nicely for a campaign ahead.
