Te Akau NZ Thursday Trackwork

Te Akau track work Thursday June 27

Course proper (slow):

Orinto (Walters) and Polarity (Miller) worked from the 1400 metres at three-quarter pace, quickening to clock 1:24.6 for the 1200m and final 600m in 42.8. Returning to form with a good second last start at Te Rapa, Polarity contests the Benchmark 65 2100 metres on Monday July 1 at Matamata. Orinto resumes from a freshen-up on Wednesday July 3 in the Maiden 1400 metres for fillies and mares at Te Rapa.

Working from the 1000 metres in 1:09.03, last 600m in 40, Rapid Gain (Miller) and two-year-old Savabeel gelding King Savinsky (Walters) completed the task nicely ahead of their respective assignments. King Savinsky is scheduled to debut in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on Wednesday July 3 at Te Rapa, and Rapid Gain is reappearing in the Maiden 1200 metres at the local meeting on Monday.

Sand track:

Kayleen (Walters) and My Fiancée (Miller) both worked well over 1200 metres in 1:17.3. Each was placed at their last outings on the home course earlier in June and while Kayleen returns on Monday for the Maiden 1400 metres, My Fiancee is scheduled for the Maiden 1400 metres for fillies and mares at Te Rapa.

Being readied for the Benchmark 65 2100 metres on Monday at Matamata, Prospero (Stack) worked strongly over 1400 metres at three-quarter pace.

Thrive (Walters) also worked at three-quarter pace over 1200 metres and continues to train well in preparation for the Whyte Handicap (1600m) on July 15 at Trentham.

Scheduled for the fillies and mares Maiden 1200 metres on Wednesday July 3 at Te Rapa, Pride and Passion (Walters) came from the 800 metres at three-quarter pace.
