Te Akau NZ Trials' Update

Te Akau trialled two horses on Tuesday Oct. 1 at Paeroa.

The footing was rated Heavy10, with the rail out 5 metres.

Heat 7 2YO 700 metres (head, ½ length 42.21)

Scandinavian (2 g Dylan Thomas - Blanche Amelia) - Michael Dee; produced a very good first trial. He jumped away well to sit outside the leader, travelled nicely around the home turn and finished off generously to the line. Although not really appreciative of the heavy track conditions, he was genuine and showed good natural ability to run a close third.

Heat 20 Maiden 3YO 1150 metres

The Musician (3 g Minstrel Court - Carrots) - Michael Dee; went a very encouraging trial as he had not handled such conditions in the past and it was a good effort. He jumped out well to lead and only got run down late to be beaten by a head.
