Te Akau NZ Weekend Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing at two venues on Saturday 21 November.

Avondale:

As on Friday 20 November the conditions were: showery and Dead4, rail true.

12.48 p.m. R1 11 Ekraarstatic (5 m Ekraar - Nugget Point) - Cameron Lammas; she lost momentum when bumped between horses at the 200m in the Rating 85 2200 metres on 3 November at Ellerslie. Drawn barrier four in the corresponding $30,000 race, she should be improved at her second attempt over ground in this campaign and rates a top five chance.

Awapuni:

As on Friday 20 November the conditions were: overcast and Dead6, rail out 5 metres.

3.27 p.m. R6 2 Sir Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Dominant) - Dylan Mo (a3); worked home in tight quarters for third in the Rating 75 1200 metres at Hastings, after being held up with more to offer when resuming over 1150 metres at Waipa. With blinkers on, and weight relief to 56kgs, he is capable of threatening with luck from the outside barrier (10) in the $18,500 Rating 75 1400 metres.

4.37 p.m. R8 3 Silverdale (6 g Castledale - Elianto) - Darryl Bradley; worked home for fifth in a sprint home (33.3 last 600m) over 1400 metres last Saturday at Tauranga, and has blinkers on stepping up in distance for the $25,000 Open 1500 metres. Fitter for recent racing, he can prove competitive in a field of nine.
