Te Akau NZ Weekend Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing at two venues on Saturday 27 August .

Ruakaka:

As on Friday 26 August the conditions were: cloudy and Dead5, rail out 5.5 metres. No rain forecast.

12.30 p.m. R1 7 O'Know (4 m O'Reilly - Know All) - Michael McNab; looked really good when finishing into second under hold in a trial over 1040 metres on 2 August at Te Teko, and resumes off 195 days in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. A big filly that has been patiently handled, she finished off nicely for second on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 1 January at Hastings, and commencing encouragingly should set up a fruitful campaign.

1.05 p.m. R2 6 Our Abbadean (4 m Lookin at Lucky - Highland Lights) - Michael McNab; had a quiet trial behind Southern Icon on 2 August at Te Teko, and resumes off 119 days in the $22,500 Rating 75 1200 metres. Following back-to-back victories, she ended her previous campaign with a strong finish for second, clocking a slick 34.1 for her final 600m, in a smart field for the $20,000 3YO 1600 metres at Te Rapa. She acts fresh, has won at the distance, and should be finding the line solidly.

Hastings:

As on Friday 26 August the conditions were: cloudy and Slow8, rail true. 2mls rain forecast overnight.

12.50 p.m. R2 4 Hall of Fame (3 c Savabeel - Around the Clock) - Matt Cameron; was unsuited by heavy footing when trialling on 2 August at Te Teko, but still worked home solidly once balanced in the straight and it was a tidy performance against older horses in the fastest (1:03.9) of the three Open heats over 1040 metres. A touch unlucky to be collared after leading on debut in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres at Hastings, he set the record straight when racing clear to win by four and a half lengths in May at Pukekohe. Put aside thereafter, he resumes off 113 days in the $20,000 3YO 1200 metres and currently resides on the fourth line of betting: $6.50 & $1.90.
