Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Friday 16 August at Oamaru.

12:52 p.m. R2 4 Kabugee (5 g Satono Aladdin – Kabuki) – Ashvin Goindasamy; he fought solidly without threatening on Heavy10 footing in the Rating 75 1400 metres on 3 August at Riccarton, following a strong finish for third again on Heavy10 in the Rating 75 1400 metres here on 21 July. Contesting the $17,000 Rating 75 1400 metres, he will be suited on the improved but still yielding ground, and rates a top three chance from barrier one. 

4:18 p.m. R8 2 Time Is King (4 g Darci Brahma – Tiffany’s Time) – Ashvin Goindasamy; he won the Maiden 1600 metres on 27 June and finished sixth after leading in the 3YO 1400 metres on 12 July, won by stable-mate Mitre Peak, both on poly track at Riccarton. Up in grade for the $17,000 Rating 65 1600 metres, he shapes to prove competitive but he will need a truckload of luck from his wide draw (11).
