Te Akau on Exhibition

Reigning Champion Trainers Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson have taken the opportunity during recent race meetings to present stakes' performers in exhibition gallops.

Last Saturday at Tauranga, What You Wish For (Embellish), ridden by Darin Danis, led home Damask Rose (Savabeel), with Vinnie Colgan aboard, and Unbridled Joy (Snitzel), under Jonathan Riddell.

Impressive winning as a two-year-old and placed in the Group 2 Waikato Guineas over 2000m at three, What You Wish For has impressively won two of his three starts this season and is preparing to trial tomorrow (Tuesday) at Taupo.

Debut winner and runner-up in the RL Karaka Million 2YO at her second start, Damask Rose finished third in the Group 3 Gold Trail Stakes 1200m at her only start this season and is also preparing to trial on Tuesday at Taupo.

Unbridled Joy is also trialing at Taupo - he placed as a two-year-old in the Group 3 Matamata Slipper 1200m and earlier this season finished runner-up in the Listed Wanganui Guineas over the same distance.

Last Tuesday at Rotorua, My Lips Are Sealed (Ace High) completed an exhibition gallop, ridden by Craig Grylls who was fresh from winning the group 3 New Zealand Cup 3200m aboard stable-mate Mehzebeen (Almanzor) Saturday week ago at Riccarton.

Placed last season in the Group 3 Eulogy Stakes 1600m, and smart winner of two races this season as a four-year-old, My Lips Are Sealed is preparing for the $80,000 Listed Steelformers Roofing Group Wanganui Cup over 2040m on Saturday 30 November at Wanganui.

Owned by Te Akau racing partnerships, all four horses were purchased as yearlings by David Ellis CNZM.
