Te Akau Otaki Friday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Friday 21 June at Otaki. 

Weather: fine, track: Heavy10, rail: out 8 metres straight and 10 metres back straight. 6mls rain forecast Friday.

12.52 p.m. R2 5 Richard of Yorke (7 g Oasis Dream - Cascata) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); won the Rating 72 2200 metres here on Heavy10 in May and scored in the same grade on Heavy11, over 2100 metres, by 7 ¼ lengths on 8 June at Trentham, with Burdan aboard. Back in distance and up in grade to contest the $12,000 Rating 82 1600 metres, he faces a much tougher field but receives conditions to suit, weight relief to 53.5kgs, and racing in great fettle. 

2.02 p.m. R4 9 English Rose (4 m Makfi - Bislieri) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); was claimed in the last few strides from a handy position in the Rating 65 2100 metres on 26 May at Hawera. Racing well after scoring fresh-up by three and a quarter lengths over 1400 metres in March at Rotorua, she has drawn wide (11) in the $10,000 Rating 65 2100 metres but claims to 52.5kgs and rates a top four chance if appreciative of the course at her first attempt.
