Te Akau Otaki-Maori Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has four horses entered for the eight race programme on Thursday 26 May at Otaki.
As on Wednesday 25 May the conditions were: showery and Slow9, rail out 7 metres. Heavy footing predicted.

1.18 p.m. R3 10 Niamh Elizabeth (3 f Per Incanto - Trove) - Matt Cameron; has improved since her fresh up run on Dead5 at Woodville, and with visor blinkers and nose band on she contests the Maiden 1200 metres. Her half-sister, stakes' winner Thrive (Colombia), had a good record on heavy footing and this filly finished third when debuting on Heavy11 at Avondale.

3.07 p.m. R6 8 Interstellar (3 f Shamoline Warrior - Amathea) - Matt Cameron; got the job done winning fresh up on Dead5 in the Rating 65 1200 metres at Wanganui, and steps up in the Rating 75 1400 metres. She has trained on well, possesses natural talent and should prove competitive if appreciative of the footing.

3.42 p.m. R7 10 I See Fire (3 f Encosta De Lago - Chasing Mammon) - Matt Cameron; has been given time since racing in the Maiden 2000 metres at Matamata, and with visor blinkers on she drops back in distance to a mile. With solid form on better going, her ability to handle the conditions will be imperative.

4.17 p.m. R8 1 Royal Success (3 g Savabeel - Royal Show) - Matt Cameron; let down very well to win the Maiden 1400 metres on Slow7 at Pukekohe, after travelling like a winner but had no luck in the straight when fifth on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres at Woodville. Although striking heavier footing, he appears a solid chance again in the Rating 65 1600 metres.
