As on race morning, the conditions were: fine and Good3, rail out 3 metres. No rain forecast.

12.15 p.m. R1 2 Pinot Grey (2 f Burgundy - Streaming) - Cameron Lammas; makes her debut from barrier two in the $10,000 2YO 1000 metres. Seen once at the trials, 14 September over 600 metres at Avondale, she began smartly to lead and found plenty when challenged to win well. Her sire, Burgundy (Redoute's Choice), gained notoriety when his first three two-year-olds to race all won and he tops the stakes winners list this season, while the family of this filly has produced a lot of juvenile winners - pictured at the Karaka Sale from where she was purchased by David Ellis for $145,000.
